Shadow, a 16 yr old male shih-tzu, came to NAH when his owner became homeless. Shadow came to NAH very thin, limping, and seeming to be generally ill. Blood work was completed on Shadow which showed that he may be in the early stages of kidney failure. After extensive donated vet care, Shadow feels good again. He gets excited about going outside now which is something that we never saw before because he was in chronic pain. We are so happy to be able to provide a pain free existence for Shadow in his golden years so that he can do as he pleases comfortably (which is eat lots of canned food and take lots of long naps)!
