Who would want to hurt this little girl? That’s what we all asked when Gizmo, the tiny pup was brought in with a fractured pelvis, which was surgically repaired while they stayed at Noah’s Animal House, due to abuse she sustained at the hands of her mom’s abuser.

Romeo stayed by his mom’s side through it all. She credits him for loving her unconditionally through the darkest days of her life and doesn’t believe she would have made it to this day without him. Romeo saved her life in every way.

When Chico’s mom arrived, her eyebrow, cheek, and lips were sutured, yet her focus remained solely on Chico, the caramel-colored furry face peeking out from under her arm. Both were victims of domestic violence – the weapon was a golf club. Mom threw herself on top of Chico to shield him from the same brutality she endured.

Kit Kat the kitty was 18 years old when she arrived with her mom at Noah’s and The Shade Tree.  After retiring from the Army National Guard after 20 years of service and caring for others, mom found herself homeless.  She never imagined herself needing shelter.  The staff showered them with love and compassion, allowing Kit Kat and mom to stay together during this difficult time.

A mother and her two sons were forced to escape violence Inflicted by her daughter and her daughter’s in-laws in the Midwest. Upon arriving at Noah’s, the staff discovered that Goliath and Joie also suffered abuse. Joie, the dove, can’t fly because she was thrown into a ceiling fan. Goliath, the young German Shepherd, loves and carries Joie.
